Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is back at Magic Kingdom through October 31, 2026, running on select nights from 7 p.m. to midnight — with early entry available at 4 p.m. for ticket holders. That can make for a very long Disney day, and getting around the resort after dark is trickier than many guests expect. Three standing transportation rules are worth knowing before you head out.
First, buses from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels aren't open to everyone. Disney can require guests to show a valid resort room key, dining reservation, or experience reservation before boarding — and that boarding window for reservation holders only opens up to two hours before their reservation time. The same proof-of-stay policy applies to the Sassagoula River Cruise departing Disney Springs. Guests without qualifying documentation can be turned away entirely.
Second, alcohol is prohibited on all Walt Disney World Resort transportation — buses and watercraft alike. That seasonal specialty cocktail you picked up at a resort lounge needs to be finished or properly disposed of before you board. It's an easy rule to miss at the end of a festive evening, but cast members do enforce it.
Third, complimentary transportation doesn't run all night. Disney buses, monorails, boats, and the Skyliner generally shut down about one hour after a theme park closes. Disney Springs bus service ends approximately one hour after Disney Springs itself closes. Guests who linger at a resort after leaving Magic Kingdom may find their planned route is no longer running — turning what was supposed to be a free ride into an out-of-pocket expense. Guests who need transportation outside those windows are directed to arrange their own alternatives.
Planning Your Trip
Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller of Walt Disney World tickets, often at a discount off gate price.
None of these policies are new, but they're easy to overlook during a late Halloween night when you're focused on getting back to the hotel. Knowing them in advance — especially if you're planning your Disney World tickets and itinerary around a party night — can save you a real headache at midnight.
