A Disney bus driver confirmed to AllEars that the accident significantly backed up bus traffic across the property, leaving guests stranded and likely unable to make rope drop at the theme parks that morning. While bus delays do occur occasionally, this one was significant enough to trigger an unusual response from the company.
For what AllEars described as the first time they had ever witnessed, affected passengers were given a complimentary Lightning Lane redemption to use at the parks. Lightning Lane access typically requires a paid add-on or purchase, making a free redemption a genuinely rare form of goodwill from the resort.
It's worth keeping expectations measured: Disney does not offer this kind of compensation for routine or minor delays, and there's no guarantee riders will receive anything if they find themselves waiting on a delayed bus.
