The move appears to be a crowd-management measure, giving Disney more control over who is parking on resort property during peak holiday periods. While the passes were once a standard part of the Disney resort experience, the company had largely moved away from them in recent years.
Guests staying at participating hotels should expect to receive a pass and may be asked to display it when entering resort parking areas. Disney hasn't made a formal announcement about which specific hotels are involved or how long the policy will remain in place.
