Disney World is pouring roughly $30 million into two of its beloved resort properties, according to newly filed records with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. The bulk of that investment — about $24.4 million — is headed to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, where guest rooms at both Jambo House and Kidani Village are getting significant overhauls, including the removal and replacement of finishes and fixtures throughout.

The remaining $6.2 million is earmarked for an entirely new venue coming to Disney's BoardWalk: a waterfront lounge called Hurly-Burly. By day, the spot will operate as a family-friendly space with hosted activities and trivia. After dark, it shifts to a 21-and-older live music venue featuring coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites.

Permit filings describe the Hurly-Burly build-out as a substantial construction project, covering new walls, floors, ceilings, kitchen and bar equipment, restroom finishes, and limited modifications to existing windows and doors. The lounge is expected to open in late 2026.

A Walt Disney World spokesperson told the Orlando Business Journal that these projects are part of broader investments intended to keep the resort "the number one reason people visit Central Florida" and to give guests new reasons to return for years to come.
