Walt Disney World has moved its new AI overview feature into official Cast Member testing. The tool lives on DisneyWorld.com and is designed to display an AI-generated summary at the top of search results, making it easier for visitors to quickly find answers about the resort.

The feature actually surfaced briefly for regular guests back in June, though apparently by accident. At that point it was labeled "Cast Preview" and wasn't fully functional — it could only respond to food and beverage questions, telling users it was "still learning." Now Cast Members are actively using and evaluating it, with their feedback expected to shape how and when the feature goes live for the general public. Disney has not set a specific timeline for a broader launch.

The test fits into a wider AI push happening across the company. During Disney's Q2 earnings call, Parks chairman Josh D'Amaro described the goal as using AI to simplify the notoriously complex process of planning and booking a Disney vacation, with an eye toward personalizing that experience for each guest. Walt Disney Imagineering was also recruiting an AI executive as recently as March 2026 to help build what the company called an "AI-first platform" for how the creative division does its work.

Disney has also been navigating the broader AI landscape — including a three-year partnership with OpenAI that saw some turbulence when OpenAI shut down its Sora video platform just months after the deal was announced. Disney noted at the time that it remains committed to engaging with AI platforms responsibly while protecting intellectual property and creators' rights.
