The Skyliner's onboard safety announcements ask guests to remain seated for the entire journey, and for good reason. The gondola cabins travel continuously along steel cables, passing through towers and occasionally experiencing mild swaying during normal operation. Standing on a bench during those movements raises the real risk of losing balance, falling into fellow riders, or striking the cabin walls — all inside an enclosed space dozens of feet off the ground.
