Guests staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort are facing a transportation shuffle this summer. The resort's boat dock — home to the Sassagoula River Cruise, which ferries visitors to and from Disney Springs — closed on July 20th and is expected to remain out of service through early August.

During the closure, guests who would normally hop on the boat will need to use bus service to reach Disney Springs. Disney has not specified what work is being done at the dock.

It's worth keeping some flexibility in your plans: refurbishments at Disney World have a history of running longer than initially announced, so the early-August target date could shift. Building extra travel time into Disney Springs trips is a smart move for Old Key West guests right now.

The dock closure is one of several active refurbishments across Walt Disney World this week, including the ongoing shutdown of Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom and construction work in multiple EPCOT pavilions.
