Early risers at Disney's Animal Kingdom are noticing something different when they arrive at park open. The park has begun testing a change to its rope drop procedure, holding guests on Discovery Island rather than in the Oasis area closer to the entrance.
The Oasis serves as the lushly landscaped entryway guests walk through after passing the main gate, while Discovery Island sits at the park's central hub. Moving the holding point further into the park is a meaningful shift for guests who carefully position themselves each morning hoping to make a quick dash to popular attractions.
It's not yet clear whether the change will become permanent or what prompted the adjustment, but guests visiting Animal Kingdom in the coming days should expect the updated staging as testing continues.
