Resort hopping along Walt Disney World's Monorail loop just got a lot more convenient. Disney has quietly restored mobile ordering access at the three Monorail resort hotels — the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary — for guests who are not staying at those properties. For a period, the My Disney Experience app blocked non-resort guests from placing mobile orders at those locations, effectively forcing them to wait in traditional counter lines.

The change shows up in how the app now behaves. A notification still appears in My Disney Experience stating that mobile ordering is intended for resort guests, but tapping through it now allows anyone to select a pickup window and complete an order. The cosmetic warning remains; the hard block behind it does not. That means Capt. Cook's at the Polynesian, Gasparilla Island Bar and Grill at the Grand Floridian, and the Contemporary's quick-service spots are all back in play for day visitors.

Practically speaking, mobile ordering is how most guests navigate quick-service dining efficiently at Walt Disney World. Being able to place an order from the monorail before you even pull into the resort stop is exactly the kind of seamless experience that made the Monorail loop a beloved tradition in the first place — and it's that routine that the previous restriction had disrupted.

It's worth noting a separate, unrelated policy that does affect resort access. Starting June 28, 2026, Disney implemented a permanent credential check for guests boarding buses and the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs to resort hotels. Guests need a valid resort reservation, a confirmed dining reservation, or a confirmed recreation booking to use that transportation from Disney Springs. That policy does not affect the monorail or Skyliner networks, nor does it apply to resort-bound buses departing from the theme parks — so guests can still reach the Monorail resorts through the Transportation and Ticket Center or Magic Kingdom without any credential required.
