If you've ever tried to mobile order lunch at Capt. Cook's or Gasparilla Island Bar and Grill while resort-hopping along the monorail loop, you may have hit a frustrating wall. For a stretch of time, Walt Disney World's My Disney Experience app blocked non-staying guests from placing mobile orders at quick-service locations inside Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort — routing them to the counter line instead.

That restriction has quietly disappeared. Disney made no formal announcement, but guests navigating to the mobile order screen at any of the three Monorail resorts will notice a change in how the app behaves. The notification stating that mobile ordering is intended for resort guests still appears — the language hasn't been updated — but tapping through it now leads directly into the ordering interface. Guests can select a pickup window, build an order, and check out without issue. What was once a hard block now functions as little more than an informational pop-up.

The shift is a meaningful one for guests who treat the monorail loop as its own destination. Resort hopping between the three properties — stopping for food that reflects each hotel's distinct personality — has long been a legitimate way to spend a Disney day, and the ability to have an order ready before stepping off the train is exactly the kind of convenience the system is built to provide.

Worth noting alongside this update: a separate Disney Springs transportation policy that took effect June 28, 2026 now requires guests boarding resort buses or the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs to show proof of a resort reservation, dining reservation, or recreation booking. That verification applies only to Disney Springs departures — the monorail, Skyliner, and buses leaving from the theme parks remain unrestricted, so resort hopping through those transit options is entirely unaffected.

For guests without a resort stay who want to make the most of the Monorail resorts, the practical path is straightforward: access the Transportation and Ticket Center or Magic Kingdom through normal means, ride the monorail freely between all three properties, and use mobile order to have food waiting on arrival.
