Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, the new nature-themed resort rising along Bay Lake beside Fort Wilderness, is making visible progress — and fresh aerial photography gives us the clearest look yet at what guests can expect when the property opens in summer 2027.
The resort's centerpiece outdoor area, called The Wetlands, is organized around three distinct zones. Heron Shores will offer climbing and exploration play, while Otter Springs is designed for younger kids to splash and slide. Daydream River is a lazy river that winds guests through the recreation area with views of the surrounding landscape — all of it themed to the Disney animated classic Pocahontas.
At the heart of The Wetlands sits Lakeside Lagoon, a zero-entry feature pool anchored by a spiral waterslide. On the opposite side of the property, Perspective Pond will house a leisure pool and whirlpool spa positioned to offer evening views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks display across the water.
Aerial images shared by @bioreconstruct on X show the main pool complex taking shape, along with a nearly finished lake dock — noted as complete except for the roof of its shelter structure. A quiet pool area on the resort grounds was also visible in the new photos.
