After nearly a decade of planning, false starts, and a pandemic-era pause, Disney's Lakeshore Lodge finally has a firm opening date: July 1, 2027. The Walt Disney World resort — first announced back in 2018 under the name Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge — will sit along Bay Lake on the former River Country water park property, nestled between Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Wilderness Lodge.

What makes Lakeshore Lodge stand out from other Disney Vacation Club properties is its approach to theming. Rather than anchoring the entire resort to a single film or franchise, Disney has drawn from several animated classics and the way each story relates to nature, landscapes, and animals. The three-bedroom grand villa takes its cues from Fantasia, while the waterfront Lake Houses lean into Brother Bear with mountain imagery and moody blue, purple, and green lighting. One-bedroom villas and deluxe studios channel the woodland spirit of Bambi, the resort studio and Presidential Suite draw from Pocahontas, and the Duo studio finds its inspiration in the more recent Encanto.

Public spaces carry that same nature-forward storytelling. The main lobby is inspired by Pocahontas, and Dandelion Terrace — a lounge overlooking Bay Lake — will offer views of Magic Kingdom fireworks drifting across the water each night. Many guest rooms are also positioned to take in those nighttime shows from the comfort of a private balcony or window.

Three dining options are planned for the resort: Moonglade, a table-service restaurant; Bay Lake Provisions, a quick-service marketplace open throughout the day; and Paint Out Point Bar & Grill, a poolside spot for casual meals and drinks. In total, the property will offer 967 accommodations, ranging from studios to villas and the waterfront Lake Houses that line the shore.
