Construction at Disney Lakeshore Lodge is moving along steadily, with fresh aerial images captured on July 19 showing meaningful progress across several areas of the resort. Photographer bioreconstruct shared the photos on X, offering one of the clearest looks yet at how the property is coming together ahead of its planned summer 2027 opening.
The pool deck near the Bay Lake shoreline has gained light poles and additional pavement since it was first paved last month, though it remains unclear from aerial views whether the lighting is temporary or permanent. Perhaps the most eye-catching update is the dock extending into Bay Lake, which appears nearly finished — the main structure is in place, though a roof shelter has yet to be added.
Over in The Wetlands, the resort's central outdoor recreation complex, the lazy river area is starting to feel more finished as decorative trees have been planted around the pool deck. The nearby Lakeshore Lagoon — the zero-entry feature pool that will include a spiral waterslide — has seen more pavement laid, though its decorative touches are still to come. Disney recently updated the pool's name from the originally announced "Lakeside Lagoon" to "Lakeshore Lagoon," with no public explanation for the change.
Lakeshore Lodge has had a long road to this point. Disney first announced the resort in 2018 under the name Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but construction halted during the COVID-19 pandemic and the project was widely believed to be canceled before Disney revived it in 2024. The fully Disney Vacation Club property is designed to celebrate the natural world's influence on Disney artistry.
