If you've strolled past Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa lately and noticed some construction activity around the Monorail station, here's what's going on: crews are in the middle of a structural refurbishment that's been underway since March 2026.

Workers have stripped away much of the station's white themed paneling to expose the internal supports underneath the platform. Old steel has been removed, and new steel is now being installed in its place — a crew member in a lift was recently spotted working at one end of the platform.

The good news for guests is that Monorail service to and from the Grand Floridian has not been interrupted. The work is confined to the Cast Member-only side of the station, so visitors can still hop on and off as usual.

This kind of behind-the-scenes structural work is easy to overlook, but it's the sort of maintenance that keeps aging infrastructure safe and sound for years to come. No completion date for the refurbishment has been announced. This update was first reported by WDW News Today.
