Florida resident rates are one of Disney Cruise Line’s periodically refreshed, sailing-specific offers—not a standing discount available on every itinerary. As of November 3, 2026, Disney Cruise Line is advertising savings of up to 30% on select Bahamas and Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale, with eligible departure dates running into early 2027. The exact sailing list, discount level and available staterooms can change quickly, so start with Disney’s current Florida resident offer page before making plans.

How the Florida resident rate works

The offer reduces the voyage fare on a limited selection of cruises. It does not reduce Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses, and it cannot be combined with another Disney Cruise Line promotion or discount. Disney says the offer is available on new and existing reservations, but inventory is capped at 50 staterooms per sailing; an existing reservation is not automatically entitled to the rate once that allotment is gone. Ask Disney Cruise Line or your travel advisor to compare the eligible resident fare against your current reservation before changing anything. See the offer’s current terms and availability details.

This is also worth separating from Disney’s similarly named “Guaranteed Stateroom with Restrictions” deals. Those IGT, OGT and VGT fares involve a later cabin assignment, full payment at booking and nonrefundable terms. Florida resident pricing is a separate residency-based offer; do not assume its rules are the same simply because both fares are discounted. Disney lists the restricted guaranteed-stateroom rules separately.

Who qualifies—and what to bring

At least one adult in each stateroom booked at the Florida resident rate must show valid Florida residency proof at check-in. A current Florida driver license or Florida identification card works. Without one of those IDs, Disney accepts a dated-within-two-months mortgage statement, lease, automobile registration, auto-insurance document, homeowner’s-insurance document, utility bill, qualifying financial-institution mail or mail from a government agency—paired with a valid government-issued photo ID. Property deeds and P.O. boxes are specifically not accepted. Disney’s proof-of-residency FAQ has the complete current document list.

This is not paperwork to leave in the car. Disney requires the proof at terminal check-in, and says guests who cannot provide it will have the cruise repriced at the prevailing non-discounted rate; the difference must be paid before sailing. Make sure the document remains valid on embarkation day, especially if you booked months ahead. Review Disney’s check-in consequence before booking.

For families, Disney also notes that children ages 3 through 12 can receive child rates when sailing with two adults in the same stateroom. That does not remove the residency requirement: every resident-rate stateroom still needs its own qualifying adult at check-in.

Which sailings are eligible?

Eligible cruises are concentrated around Florida homeports, but they are not limited to quick weekend getaways. The offer page currently includes three-, four- and five-night Bahamian voyages from Port Canaveral, plus select seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings on Disney Treasure. From Fort Lauderdale, the current list includes Disney Dream and Disney Destiny itineraries ranging from three nights to seven nights, including select Very Merrytime cruises. Published discounts currently range from 25% to 30% on the listed sailings. Check the live sailing-by-sailing table, rather than relying on an old list.

Compare Ticket Prices

When the deal really beats standard pricing

A headline percentage is helpful, but compare the same ship, sail date, party size and cabin category side by side. Because the percentage applies only to voyage fare, the total-trip savings will be smaller after taxes, fees, port expenses, gratuities, transportation and add-ons. The resident rate is strongest when the exact sailing already suits your calendar and the comparable standard fare has not dropped close to it.

  • Good fit: You live in Florida, can sail on one of Disney’s selected dates, and the discounted cabin you want is still available.
  • Compare carefully: You are considering a more expensive room solely because the percentage looks large; compare final totals, not discount percentages.
  • Skip the gamble: Your qualifying ID or alternate address paperwork will be expired, unavailable or inconsistent at embarkation.

Practical takeaway: Price the resident offer first, save a copy of the quoted total, and pack the original qualifying documents with your travel documents—not in checked luggage. Check current details once more before you go.
