Disney Cruise Line has named Trent Hitchcock as the first cruise director for the Disney Believe, the newest ship in its fleet scheduled to launch next year.

Hitchcock has worked with Disney Cruise Line for nearly two decades and has served aboard every Disney Cruise Line ship except the Disney Adventure. He also helped launch the Disney Destiny.

As cruise director, Hitchcock will be involved in the ship’s entertainment operation, including deck parties, fireworks at sea and Broadway-style shows. Planning begins well before a ship welcomes its first guests; Hitchcock said conversations around entertainment development start about a year ahead of launch.

The Disney Believe will be the first ship Hitchcock has been involved with from such an early stage of development. He is expected to travel to Papenburg, Germany, and the Meyer Werft shipyard next year as work continues on the vessel.
