Disney Cruise Line pulled back the curtain on its upcoming ship, Disney Believe, during the Horizons: D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, sharing the first real look at the vessel's design direction. Portfolio Executive Creative Director Claire Weiss presented the concepts, anchored by a central creative theme: the power of believing in something fantastical.
The ship's Grand Hall follows the same philosophy as sister ships Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny — a grand central gathering space that sets the tone for the whole voyage. On Disney Believe, that space draws from Disney Animation's Moana films, incorporating South Pacific design influences and artisanal Polynesian finishes. A bronze cast statue of Moana, flanked by Pua and Heihei, will anchor the room, with the trio gazing toward new horizons.
Outside, the ship's stern gets a playful Toy Story treatment: oversized sculptures of Woody and Buzz Lightyear working together to scrawl the ship's name in large yellow crayons. The resulting lettering is a deliberate departure from Disney Cruise Line's signature looped calligraphy, instead mirroring the bold block-style font familiar from the Toy Story franchise.
Up at the bow, the nod turns classic. A hand-painted filigree depicts Tinker Bell as she appeared in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 1953 Peter Pan, surrounded by silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, and other characters woven into the swirling design. Together, the three storytelling touchpoints — Moana, Toy Story, and Peter Pan — frame a ship built around the idea of belief in magic, family, and the natural world.
