Universal Orlando Resort is bringing back its fan-favorite Dark Arts experience this fall, timed to the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film. Two separate activations will run across The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, giving guests a chance to encounter the franchise's most sinister characters in person.

The centerpiece is Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle, running September 5 through November 1. After sunset, Hogsmeade transforms as Dementors, Death Eaters, and other dark creatures appear to swarm the castle in an elaborate show of light and music. The performance builds to a climax featuring Lord Voldemort himself summoning his followers to take over the iconic structure.

Over in Diagon Alley, Death Eaters will make appearances on select dates from August 27 through November 1. Guests wandering the streets may find themselves face-to-face with Voldemort's devoted followers. A stop at Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley rounds out the experience — the shop will carry apparel and collectibles for those looking to show off their Dark Lord allegiance.

If you're planning a trip to Universal Orlando this fall, it's worth timing your visit to catch both activations while they overlap. The Hogsmeade show in particular is an after-dark event, so an evening visit is a must.
