Visitors to Disney's Animal Kingdom can once again walk past the gorilla enclosure, which had been closed while the park introduced a new male gorilla to its troop. The habitat is officially back open for guests to view.
There's a bit of a patience game ahead, though. The new male has not yet made an appearance for park guests, so those hoping for a glimpse of the newcomer may need to keep their expectations in check — at least for now.
It's not unusual for animals to take some time to settle into a new environment before venturing into public-facing areas of their habitat. Animal keepers typically allow new arrivals to adjust at their own pace.
In the meantime, the rest of the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail remains a rewarding walk, with plenty of other wildlife on display throughout the lush, winding path. Fans of the troop are encouraged to check back as the new gorilla continues to acclimate to his surroundings.
