Guests walking past The American Adventure at EPCOT will notice more of the pavilion's iconic columns wrapped up these days. After the front columns were covered earlier this month, columns along the side of the building — near the Kidcot Fun Stop seating area — have now been covered as well.
The work appears to be connected to damage that became visible after bunting and signage from Independence Day celebrations were removed in early July. On top of the covered columns, observers have also spotted new damage along the front facade of the building, including holes above the far-left column.
A general construction permit has been filed for the pavilion under Tecta America Corp., a company that specializes primarily in roofing work, though it's unclear whether that permit covers all of the visible column repairs or just a portion of the project.
There's no word yet on a timeline for when the work will be complete, but the attraction itself remains open to guests in the meantime.
