Walt Disney World has filed a general construction permit for Theater in the Wild at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the venue currently home to Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!

The permit, filed Oct. 27 and set to expire one year later, lists MLC Theming, Inc. as the contractor at 681 Marina Aly, an address linked to the theater. Disney has not announced what work is planned.

MLC Theming’s listed specialties include scenic painting and aging, facade fabrication and rockwork carving. The filing alone does not identify whether the work would affect the theater’s show or guest access.

As of Oct. 28, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! was still open, with daily performances scheduled at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The theater sits near the former DinoLand U.S.A. area, which closed in February 2026 for the Tropical Americas project. Disney had previously said that new land would open in 2027, but that timeline was removed in September.
