A SpaceX Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station created a glowing early-morning display visible across parts of South Florida on Tuesday.
The rocket lifted off at 7:04 a.m. on SpaceX’s Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission, carrying 32 payloads into orbit, according to CBS12.
As the rocket climbed, its expanding exhaust plume caught sunlight while the ground was still dark. The effect, often called a “space jellyfish,” was seen from Port St. Lucie to Hutchinson Island in Jensen Beach.
After launch, the Falcon 9’s first-stage booster landed on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
