The Florida State Parks Foundation and STIHL Inc. have announced a partnership to expand the use of battery-powered tools across Florida’s state parks.

The effort represents an investment of about $250,000, according to the organizations. The expanded fleet is intended to reduce emissions from park maintenance equipment while creating a quieter setting for visitors and wildlife.

Florida’s state parks will use the battery-powered tools as part of their operations, replacing or reducing reliance on louder, emissions-producing equipment where the new tools are deployed.
