I've been going to Disney World since I was 18 months old — over 50 years now — and since moving to Florida more than 15 years ago, I'm in the parks multiple times a week. I've stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort five times, and it remains one of my go-to recommendations for families looking for a moderate-priced option that still feels like a real Disney experience.
The theming here is genuinely beautiful. The rooms are spacious and well done, and the whole resort has that breezy, colorful Caribbean atmosphere that makes it feel like a step above a standard hotel. That said, I'll give you one important heads-up right away: there are no elevators to the upper floors. If you're traveling with a stroller or have anyone in your group with mobility concerns, that's something you absolutely need to plan around before you book.
On one of our stays, we specifically requested a room close to the pool, and it made a huge difference. The pool is a blast — really well done and a lot of fun for kids. Being within easy walking distance of the large quick-service restaurant and the Skyliner station made that particular stay feel seamless. If you can request a room in that area, I'd strongly recommend it.
Speaking of the Skyliner — that's honestly the star of the show here. Having direct gondola access to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot is a genuine perk that sets Caribbean Beach apart from other moderate resorts. It's convenient, it's scenic, and the kids love it. Just keep in mind that if your room is in one of the farther buildings, it can be a long walk to the main pool and restaurants.
Dining options are solid for a moderate resort. There's a large cafeteria-style quick-service location that handles the crowds well, and there's also a sit-down restaurant available if you want something a little more relaxed. And one thing I didn't expect the first time — you can actually see the Epcot fireworks from the beach. That's a nice bonus at the end of a long park day.
I give Caribbean Beach a 4 out of 5. It's a smart choice for families who want the Disney moderate experience, Skyliner convenience, and a fun pool without breaking the budget. Just be strategic about your room location and know going in that accessibility to upper floors is limited.
