Passengers boarding Allure of the Seas will notice a significant change on Deck 4: construction walls came down to reveal a newly expanded non-smoking casino, the latest in a fleet-wide push by Royal Caribbean to grow its gambling spaces. The new area was carved out of what used to be two popular venues — Blaze nightclub and Comedy Live — whose walls were removed to create a much larger, open floor plan.
The expanded casino connects to a smaller smoke-free gambling space that had already existed in the former Jazz on 4 location since 2023, greatly increasing the overall footprint. The new section runs along both sides of Deck 4 with a walkway down the middle. It's primarily slot machines, though a handful of table games are included as well. Families can walk through the area, but guests under 18 are not permitted to linger. Allure's original casino elsewhere on the ship remains unchanged.
With those two entertainment venues gone, the ship's nightlife has shifted. Dazzles on Deck 8 now hosts the nightclub scene along with events like Rock-A-Rokie and live band performances. Comedy shows, however, may have been cut entirely — a reader report cited by Royal Caribbean Blog suggests Allure no longer offers a dedicated adult comedy show.
Allure is far from alone in this trend. Symphony of the Seas is currently undergoing a similar conversion, swapping out its Crown Lounge and Blaze for casino space. Harmony of the Seas gained what Royal Caribbean is calling the largest casino in its fleet history during an amplification earlier this year. Other ships — including Ovation of the Seas, Legend of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas, and Liberty of the Seas — have all seen lounges, clubs, or other venues replaced with new casino areas in recent years.
Royal Caribbean hasn't publicly broken out casino revenue in its financial reports, but the accelerating pace of these conversions across so many ships signals that gambling remains one of the cruise line's most valuable onboard revenue streams.
