Fans of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace will need to wait a little longer for their favorite tropical sip. Disney has confirmed that the outdoor bar at the Polynesian Village Resort is closed through late October 2026, giving guests a rough window to plan around before it swings back open.
The closure is tied to ongoing refurbishment work on the Grand Ceremonial House, the Polynesian's iconic main building that houses shops, dining, and other resort amenities. While the work is underway, the open-air tiki bar tucked outside remains off-limits.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace has long been a favorite among Disney resort regulars for its playful atmosphere, tropical drinks, and nods to classic Disney theme-park lore. The indoor Grog Grotto, its sister lounge, has also been closed during this period, leaving tiki devotees with few options to scratch that particular itch on property.
Late October is still a few months off, so guests with trips planned before then should factor in the closure when mapping out their resort dining and lounging plans. As with any refurbishment timeline, Disney may adjust the window as work progresses.
