Space Coast night owls have a reason to set their alarms: SpaceX has scheduled a Falcon 9 rocket launch carrying the NROL-95 mission from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station for Thursday, July 30, with liftoff targeted at 3:09 a.m. ET.
If conditions delay the attempt, a backup opportunity is available the following morning, Friday, July 31, at 2:55 a.m. ET.
The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this flight is no stranger to the skies — it will be making its seventh trip to space, having previously supported missions including KF-01, IMAP, NROL-77, GPS III-9, CRS-34, and one Starlink mission.
After stage separation, the booster is expected to return to terra firma with a landing at Landing Zone 2, also located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, giving spectators a chance to witness both a launch and a landing in the same pre-dawn outing.
