NASA is gearing up for its next crew rotation to the International Space Station, with a pair of media briefings scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3, at Johnson Space Center in Houston. Mission leadership will outline the Crew-13 flight plan at noon EDT, followed by the astronauts and cosmonaut themselves at 2 p.m. to discuss their training and preparations. Both events will be streamed live at nasa.gov/live.
The four-person crew heading to the orbiting laboratory includes NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. The Aug. 3 news conferences mark the team's final scheduled media opportunity before they travel to Florida for launch.
The crew is set to lift off aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule riding a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station no earlier than mid-September. It will be a familiar launch pad for Florida space watchers — the same complex that has supported numerous commercial crew and cargo flights to the station.
