Construction crews have poured additional concrete for Cars Ridge Run Rally, the planned headline attraction in the Piston Peak National Park expansion of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.
WDWNT reported seeing the new concrete on Wednesday, October 28, expanding work completed earlier in the month. Workers in high-visibility vests were preparing the site for another concrete pour, while construction vehicles occupied a central portion of the increasingly level, smooth work area.
The project occupies the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area. According to WDWNT, the river has been filled in and the island removed for the Cars-themed Frontierland expansion.
Near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, crews have also created dirt berms intended to contain muddy rainwater in an area that has experienced flooding.

Piston Peak National Park is planned as an American West- and national park-inspired Cars land with forests, waterways, geysers and mountain scenery. Cars Ridge Run Rally is set to be its main ride, while Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along is described as the area’s more family-friendly attraction. Disney has said the new area will include references to both Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, as well as an original character named Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore.
