NASA and SpaceX are targeting 11:10 a.m. Thursday for the Crew-13 mission to lift off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to launch the agency’s four-person astronaut crew aboard a Dragon spacecraft from Launch Complex 40, bound for the International Space Station. NASA astronaut Luke Delaney is set to pilot Dragon.
Weather could be the main hurdle. The Space Force’s 45th Weather Squadron forecast a 55% chance of favorable conditions, with breezy onshore flow potentially bringing cumulus clouds, rain and thick cloud layers over the Cape. The forecast cited a weak low-level disturbance moving into the Gulf of America.
Launch watch parties were planned Thursday morning at Deltona High School in Volusia County and at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, highlighting Delaney’s connection to the region.
NASA’s live webcast was scheduled to begin at 9:20 a.m., ahead of the planned late-morning launch attempt.
