NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 11:10 a.m. EDT Thursday, sending four international crew members toward the International Space Station.
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted the company’s Dragon spacecraft from Space Launch Complex 40. On board are NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov.
According to NASA, the Dragon spacecraft is set to dock autonomously at the space station’s forward port. The crew is heading to the orbiting laboratory for a science expedition.
The Oct. 1 launch marked another human spaceflight departure from Florida’s Space Coast, with NASA describing the mission as part of its commercial partnership with SpaceX and its continuing work aboard the International Space Station.
