Hauling souvenirs home from Walt Disney World just got a little simpler — at least in terms of how you pay for shipping. Effective September 1, 2026, the resort has replaced its merchandise-value-based shipping tiers with a straightforward bag-size model, handled through third-party provider Ricoh.
Under the previous system, shipping costs were tied to how much your purchases were worth, ranging from $19.99 for items valued up to $100 all the way to $99.99 for merchandise above $500. International shipping ran between $30 and $150 depending on value. The new approach sidesteps receipts and declared values entirely — guests simply choose a bag that fits their items and pay a flat rate based on size. Options run from an extra-small green bag at $19.97 up to a large yellow bag at $49.97, with a clear bag available for international, custom, or overweight shipments. According to a Reddit user cited in the report, no receipts are required, and you can fill the bag with whatever fits.
The process itself is four steps: pick your bag, fill it, scan a QR code to complete a shipping form and payment, then seal the bag with the provided zip tie tag and hand it to a Cast Member at any participating gift shop. A confirmation email with tracking information follows once Ricoh processes the package. Every shipment includes insurance coverage up to $100 at no extra charge; higher declared values add $1–$2 per additional $100 of coverage, up to a maximum of $5,000.
