Walt Disney World Resort is preparing to roll out a beta test of a new AI-powered vacation planning tool to a select group of website visitors in the United States and Canada. Developed in partnership with Google Cloud and Gemini, the tool follows the August debut of a redesigned Walt Disney World Resort website and represents Disney's latest effort to simplify what has become an increasingly complex trip-planning process.

Rather than clicking through menus and checkboxes, users selected for the beta — called the "Guided Search Beta" — will type out their preferences in plain language. Someone might tell the tool they want a resort near Magic Kingdom, or that they hope to visit during EPCOT's Festival of the Arts, and the system will respond with tailored options, explanations of why those options fit, and details on current pricing and special offers — all pulled from official Disney sources via AI-generated summaries. A flexible search function and a new pricing-and-availability calendar round out the feature set.

Disney says the motivation behind the project is straightforward: many guests visit the Walt Disney World website multiple times before committing to a booking, largely because of the sheer volume of information involved. The new tool aims to consolidate that research — comparing resort options, surfacing lowest available rates for Walt Disney World tickets and resort packages, and flagging relevant special offers — so that guests can make decisions more efficiently and with greater confidence.

It's worth noting what the beta version won't do, at least initially. Guests won't be able to make Lightning Lane reservations or dining bookings through the tool — functionality that remains available through the traditional booking flow on the Walt Disney World website or via a travel agent, both of which will continue operating as usual alongside the test.

Disney indicates it will gather both data and direct guest feedback from the beta to shape how the tool evolves beyond this early phase. This story was first reported by Daps Magic.
