The Enchanted Tiki Room has been a Magic Kingdom staple since the park's opening day on October 1, 1971, when it operated under the name Tropical Serenade. At nearly 55 years old, the beloved audio-animatronic bird show in Adventureland is one of the most enduring attractions on property.
Disney fans following permit activity closely will note that Buena Vista Construction Company typically handles routine maintenance and upkeep, not creative reimaginings. Major attraction overhauls or story updates are generally tied to permits filed by Walt Disney Imagineering — and no such filing has appeared for the Tiki Room. That distinction makes a significant rethink of the attraction unlikely based on what's been filed so far.
