Universal may be bringing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to its upcoming United Kingdom resort — and a fleeting contractor listing is the strongest clue yet. Theme park reporter Alicia Stella flagged an entry in PCL Construction's project management system labeled "Project 1307 UUKR WWoHP," with "UUKR" widely interpreted as Universal United Kingdom Resort and "WWoHP" a standard abbreviation for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The listing was pulled from public view shortly after it was spotted, and Universal has made no official announcement about Harry Potter — or any specific IP — for the Bedford project.
PCL's involvement gives the initials extra weight: the same contractor worked on Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure as well as the Ministry of Magic land that opened at Epic Universe in 2025, so its name appearing alongside that familiar abbreviation is difficult to dismiss outright. Unconfirmed reports suggest the UK park could include Hogsmeade, Hogwarts Castle, and the ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey — elements drawn from the original film-era Wizarding World rather than anything tied to HBO's reboot.
That distinction could become more complicated over time. HBO's new Harry Potter series — featuring a freshly designed Hogwarts and all-new costumes and props — is set to premiere this Christmas. If the show releases roughly one season every 18 months, it could be well into Harry's Hogwarts years by the time Universal United Kingdom Resort targets its 2031 opening, potentially giving the park a creative decision to make about which version of the Wizarding World it wants to present.
Universal has opened Wizarding World lands at Islands of Adventure in 2010, Universal Studios Florida in 2014, Universal Studios Japan, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Beijing Resort, with the Ministry of Magic expansion at Epic Universe representing the most recent addition to the franchise's theme park footprint. Whether Bedford will follow the established template or take a new direction remains entirely unconfirmed for now.
