Universal Orlando Resort is marking the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film with a resort-wide Back to Hogwarts event running August 1 through September 1, 2026. The celebration stretches across all three of the resort's Wizarding World locations — Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe — though individual offerings are not available at every park.
One of the event's headline collectibles is a 25th Anniversary Butterbeer Mug, sold with Butterbeer at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure only, while supplies last. Universal has not announced a price, and the mug is not guaranteed to remain in stock through the end of the event. Meanwhile, Hogwarts House Ice Lollies — four flavors tied to Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw — will be sold at Eternelle's Elixir of Refreshment in Diagon Alley and inside the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.
Guests visiting Islands of Adventure can also catch Hogwarts Always, a nighttime projection and lighting show on Hogwarts Castle that follows a school year and culminates with a House Cup winner. The show, which returned for the summer season in May, operates on select dates and may be subject to weather or park-hours adjustments, so Universal recommends checking the resort calendar or mobile app before planning an evening around it.
The event's geography is worth keeping in mind before booking. The anniversary mug and Hogwarts Always are exclusive to the original two Universal parks, while the full ice-lolly lineup requires a visit to Epic Universe. Traveling between Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley via the Hogwarts Express requires Park-to-Park admission, and the train does not connect to Epic Universe, making a full three-land sweep a multi-ticket endeavor.
Separately, demolition is underway on portions of Islands of Adventure's original Lost Continent land next to Hogsmeade, though Universal has not named what will replace it — a detail that remains unconfirmed despite fan speculation. Full event details were reported by Inside the Magic.
