Universal Orlando Resort has quietly made a significant change to Halloween Horror Nights: the Frequent Fear with Express Pass add-on is no more. The option previously allowed multi-night passholder ticket holders to purchase Express Pass access bundled with their seasonal tickets, letting them skip the queue across however many nights their package covered.

The removal has stirred up real frustration among fans who relied on that combination to get the most out of Halloween Horror Nights each fall. For dedicated HHN regulars, Frequent Fear with Express Pass was seen as a smart investment — one price, multiple nights, shorter waits.

But there's a counterargument worth hearing out. When large numbers of guests carry Express Pass on any given night, the dedicated Express lanes can get nearly as congested as the standby queues, effectively undermining the benefit for everyone. Scaling back Express availability on a busy seasonal event could, in theory, restore some of its value for those who do purchase it à la carte.

The change also nudges multi-night attendees to spread their visits across the event's run in a different way, potentially redistributing crowd load rather than concentrating Express-lane traffic on peak nights. Whether that plays out as a net positive for the guest experience remains to be seen as the Halloween Horror Nights season unfolds.
