Labor Day weekend 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest in recent Tampa Bay memory, with dozens of events spread across Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Ybor City running Thursday, September 3 through the holiday weekend.
Kicking things off Thursday evening is the 16th anniversary of Rock the Park Tampa, a free outdoor concert series at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park starting at 6:00 PM. That same night, baseball fans can head to Tropicana Field for the first of a multi-game Rays versus Texas Rangers home series, with first pitch at 8:05 PM. Running throughout the entire weekend at the Straz Center, The Art of Banksy exhibition presents more than 150 authenticated works — prints, sculptures, and immersive installations — from the anonymous street artist.
Friday, September 4 brings a particularly wide range of music options. Texas Southern rockers Blacktop Mojo play Skipper's Smokehouse, Yellowcard headlines the 97X Next Big Thing Legends show at The BayCare Sound at 6:00 PM, and Tampa Bay Comic Con officially opens at the Tampa Convention Center. Over in St. Pete, Jannus Live hosts alternative rock band Citizen, also at 6:00 PM, while the Imagine Museum offers a flamenco and Latin night with Los Rumberos from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.
Saturday, September 5 is the weekend's biggest sports day, with the USF Bulls hosting FIU at Raymond James Stadium at 7:00 PM and the Tampa Bay Rowdies welcoming Brooklyn FC at Al Lang Stadium's waterfront setting at 7:30 PM. Later that night, Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Chance the Rapper performs at The Ritz Ybor at 10:00 PM, and Skipper's Smokehouse hosts a Grateful Dead tribute evening featuring Uncle John's Band starting at 8:00 PM.
