Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge this week will notice some changes around The Mara, the resort's quick-service restaurant. The food court and dining room are closed through September 25 for refurbishment, with windows and doors papered over while work is underway.
The good news is that food is still available. Guests can place orders through the My Disney Experience app using the mobile order feature — a sign with a QR code points directly to the ordering page. Pickup tables have been set up near Pumbaa's Fun and Games Arcade, and additional outdoor tables are stocked with coffee, water, tea, condiments, and cutlery.
Guests in the area during the day should expect to see or hear some maintenance activity while the work is ongoing. Once it reopens, The Mara typically runs from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving a menu of American and African-inspired dishes — a nod to the Kenyan and Tanzanian river the restaurant is named after.
