Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge have a small but important heads-up this week: The Mara, the resort's quick-service food court, is operating via Mobile Order only from September 21st through September 25th. Both the food court and dining room are temporarily closed for routine maintenance, though Disney is keeping the full menu available for mobile orders during that window.
That's good news for anyone craving The Mara's classic entrees, grab-and-go items, or — perhaps most importantly — the beloved Zebra Domes, the resort's iconic cream-filled chocolate treats. You'll just need to place your order through the My Disney Experience app rather than walking up to the counter.
If you'd prefer a sit-down meal while staying at the lodge this week, you still have solid options. Boma is open for breakfast and dinner with its all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet, and Jiko offers a more upscale signature dinner experience. Over in Kidani Village, Sanaa serves African-inspired cuisine with Indian flavors for lunch and dinner. Several pool bars and lounges around the resort are also available for lighter bites and drinks.
The temporary Mobile Order requirement at The Mara is a minor inconvenience at most — the resort's dining scene remains robust, and the full menu staying available is a thoughtful touch from Disney during the closure period.
