Shoppers at The Darkroom, the vintage camera-themed gift shop along Hollywood Boulevard inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, will find it a little easier to check out these days — at least compared to recent weeks. One of the store's wooden register counters has returned following a reconfiguration of the space, according to WDWNT, which shared photos showing both cast members and guests using the station.
The returned counter fits right into the shop's established aesthetic: an Art Deco-influenced design with gray and black tones and finished wood that ties into The Darkroom's camera-era styling. It's positioned near the store's main entrance, making it a natural first stop for guests browsing for Disney Trading Pins, Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears, MagicBands, and other souvenirs.
That said, the shop isn't fully back to its previous setup. A second full-sized wooden register counter that once served a separate section of the store has yet to return, which could mean slightly longer waits during busy periods. Walt Disney World Resort hasn't offered any public comment on the changes or whether that second station is on its way back.
In the meantime, guests looking for a broader merchandise selection can cross Hollywood Boulevard to Mickey's of Hollywood or check out the other shopping spots sprinkled throughout the park. Disney's Hollywood Studios has no shortage of places to pick up a memento.
