Families with small children navigating EPCOT know the struggle well: Test Track requires riders to be at least 40 inches tall, leaving the youngest guests on the sidelines while older siblings and parents take the wheel. Disney has quietly made that waiting time a little easier with a new play table inside the Test Track Gear Shop at the attraction's exit.
The setup is a metal table with a blue play surface trimmed in neon yellow, styled to match the color scheme of the reimagined Test Track. Five toy cars sit on top for kids to grab and roll around — Lightning McQueen among them. It's clearly meant to be there: the design is intentional, the colors are coordinated, and it reads like a planned addition rather than a last-minute fix.
The location makes practical sense for mixed-age families. Adults and older kids exit the ride and funnel through the shop; whoever stayed behind with the little ones is typically already waiting right there. The table gives those kids something to do in that gap. It also catches the energy of a child who just rode and is still buzzing about cars — keeping the excitement alive a little longer instead of losing it in a checkout line.
Worth noting: the shop sells Disney Racers die-cast cars inspired by attractions like Space Mountain, Tron Lightcycle / Run, and the Monorail, so the play table and the merchandise are in the same room. The table is free to use, but a kid who spends five minutes pushing Lightning McQueen around is probably going to notice the shelves. The broader Test Track exit area has seen several updates lately, including a refreshed GM showroom stocked primarily with 2026 models and one 2027 Cadillac Vistiq, with GM staff on hand to discuss purchases and pricing.
