Test Track at EPCOT is experiencing extended downtime as of August 1, 2026, and cast members on site were unable to provide a reason for the closure or say whether the attraction would reopen that day.
Guests can enter the beginning of the showroom but are stopped shortly after. With the attraction offline, the air conditioning in the area is not running and the queue music has been switched off. All emergency doors were observed standing open, giving a clear view into the standby queue.
The gift shop adjacent to the attraction remains open, though a large yellow fan has been brought in — a telling sign that the shutdown may not be a quick fix.
Test Track has had a colorful history at EPCOT. It opened in 1998 as a successor to the original opening-day ride World of Motion, endured a notoriously rocky testing phase, and most recently received a full reimagining in 2025. Just days before this latest incident, the outdoor high-speed section's doors had returned to normal operation after their own period of issues.
