The contractors named on the permits have solid Disney pedigrees. KHS&S — formally Keenan Hopkins Schmidt and Stowell — has worked on heavily themed projects including Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and the Disney Springs transformation at Walt Disney World. The second permit names New Horizon Construction Services, which has handled refurbishments at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and other on-property hotels.
One detail worth noting: both permits carry an expiration date of December 31, 2027, which is longer than the typical one-year window. That extended timeline suggests the planned work could be more substantial than a routine maintenance fix.
Tangaroa Terrace sits beside the Great Ceremonial Hall at the Polynesian and has had a varied history — it once operated as a buffet restaurant and later as the Neverland Club, a supervised kids' activity space. These days the building serves as a Cast Member break area rather than a guest-facing venue.
