The Tampa Bay Lightning are rolling out the red carpet — or rather, the blue carpet — for the start of the 2026-27 season with Lightning Launch Week, a seven-day celebration running September 27 through October 3 across the Tampa Bay area. The week builds toward the team's home opener against the Washington Capitals at Benchmark International Arena on October 3 at 7 p.m.

Things get started Sunday, September 27, with the Bolts Vintage x Mezzo Market on Ford Thunder Alley from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 40 vendors will be on hand with throwback Lightning apparel, collectibles and nostalgia items, plus a live DJ. From Monday through Friday, fans can join a daily scavenger hunt called Find the Bolt, with clues dropped via the team's social media channels each morning and an exclusive prize waiting for the first fan to track down the hidden Lightning bolt each day.

Midweek brings a Pilates session at Armature Works on Tuesday evening, followed by Lightning-themed trivia nights on Wednesday at four spots: Pinellas Ale Works in St. Pete, Tamiami Tap in Sarasota, Top Shelf Sports Lounge in Wesley Chapel and The Blind Goat in Tampa. Thursday features a watch party for the Lightning's season opener against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, with the venue to be announced closer to the date.

Friday introduces what the team hopes will become a new annual tradition: Blue Cup Day. The first 50 paying customers at each of several participating Tampa Bay coffee shops will receive a limited-edition commemorative Blue Cup along with a chance at surprise giveaways. Participating cafés include The Lab, Shortwave, Flatbread & Butter, Lady & The Mug, Intermezzo and Grove Surf Café, spread across Tampa, St. Pete, Channelside and Indian Rocks Beach. The week wraps Saturday when fans can catch the Blue Carpet Walk starting at 3:45 p.m. on Ford Thunder Alley before puck drop, and take photos with three trophies won last season — the Hart, Jack Adams and Vezina — earned by Nikita Kucherov, Jon Cooper and Andrei Vasilevskiy, respectively.
