Disney Springs said goodbye to another tenant on September 5th, 2026, as Sunshine Churros permanently closed both of its cart locations. The closure adds to a long list of Disney Springs departures this year that already includes Sprinkles Cupcakes, Francesca's, Shore, Johnston & Murphy, and Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill.

What set Sunshine Churros apart was its willingness to experiment. Rather than sticking to classic cinnamon sugar, the cart offered imaginative toppings like Pop Rocks and Dubai chocolate, along with a rotating Churro of the Month that kept regulars coming back. Cast members confirmed the final day of service to Disney Food Blog staff during a visit to the location.

Sunshine Churros is owned by the same company behind Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs on the BoardWalk, and employees are expected to transfer there. As for what might take the churro carts' place at Disney Springs, Disney has not made any announcements.

Guests still craving a churro inside the parks have a handful of options. The Mission Space Cart at EPCOT and Eight Spoon Cafe in Animal Kingdom both offer Family Churros — a shareable platter of 21 bite-sized churros with sprinkles, chocolate, and caramel dipping sauces. Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom serves churros with vanilla crema and coffee-flavored dipping sauces. Magic Kingdom's Energy Bytes is also set to debut a new Churro Overdrive featuring cookies-and-cream mini churros topped with blue sugar and marshmallow. Keep in mind that all of these alternatives require a Walt Disney World park ticket, since Sunshine Churros was the only churro vendor accessible without entering a park.
