A small-city amphitheatre is outperforming nearly every major-market venue on the planet. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre has claimed the top spot in the United States and the #2 position worldwide in Pollstar Magazine's 2026 Mid-Year Top 50 Amphitheaters Report, ranked by both Tickets Sold and Worldwide Gross Sales. It's a notable jump from the previous year, when the venue ranked #2 nationally and #3 globally in the same publication's mid-year report.

The rankings cover the period from November 2025 through May 2026, during which the amphitheatre sold more than 100,000 tickets across 30 concerts. The season featured a wide range of talent — from legacy acts Rod Stewart, Santana, and Styx to emerging names like Treaty Oak Revival, Mt. Joy, and Ethel Cain. Multi-night runs from Jon Pardi, Parker McCollum, Widespread Panic, and Goose were among the season's standout bookings.

Situated within Anastasia State Park, the 4,800-capacity venue is operated by SJC Cultural Events, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Leadership there points to the combination of intimate scale, natural surroundings, and programming depth as the driving force behind the venue's rise. CEO and President Gabe Pellicer noted that the recognition demonstrates a major-market impact isn't limited to major-market cities.

The momentum shows no sign of fading. The amphitheatre has 33 more concerts lined up for the second half of 2026, with performers including James Taylor, John Fogerty and Steve Winwood, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Alabama, Buddy Guy, and Vince Gill. First-time headliners at the venue this year will include CAKE, Flipturn, and Turnpike Troubadours.
