The Toy Story Land coaster welcomed riders during Early Entry, offering hope that the extended stretch of downtime was behind them. That optimism didn't last long.

By around 10:00 a.m., the attraction stopped operating again. Several hours later it had still not returned, extending what has been a rocky week for one of Hollywood Studios' most popular draws. The coaster also logged several hours of downtime the previous Friday and Saturday before the three-day full closure began. Disney has not publicly identified a cause for any of the shutdowns.

Observers at the park noted a ride vehicle stopped near the second launch section of the track, and an open electrical panel was visible in that area. Those details don't confirm an electrical issue, but they added to the questions swirling around the attraction. Stormy weather did move into the area later Thursday, though reports indicate the ride had already gone down before those conditions arrived.

Disney has not announced a formal refurbishment period for Slinky Dog Dash, nor provided any timeline for a return to regular operation. Depending on what crews find, the situation could resolve quickly — or it could lead to a longer unplanned closure for inspections and repairs. In the meantime, Toy Story Land still offers Toy Story Mania!, Alien Swirling Saucers, character meet-and-greets, and dining at Woody's Lunch Box and Roundup Rodeo BBQ, though for families who planned their day around the coaster, those are partial substitutes at best.
