Lights at Spooky Point has returned to Marie Selby Botanical Gardens’ Historic Spanish Point campus in Osprey for its fifth season. The Halloween-themed light show is open nightly through Saturday, Oct. 31.

Visitors follow an illuminated trail through the campus’s wooded grounds and historic landmarks, passing Halloween displays and light installations. Returning elements include “ghost orchids” over the Pioneer Graveyard, “Dracula orchids” in Spanish moss and “spider orchids” woven into glowing tree-top webs. The displays take their names from real plants, reflecting Selby Gardens’ botanical focus.

The event is designed for all ages, though it includes a few minor jump-scare moments. Timed entry is offered at 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.; Selby Gardens recommends the earlier time for visitors with young children or mobility concerns, while the later slot offers a darker Spooky Point experience.

Tickets cost $34 for adults, or $24 for Selby Gardens members; admission for ages 5 through 17 is $19, and children 4 and younger are free. A limited number of tickets are available each evening, and advance purchase is encouraged because some dates can sell out before opening time.

Selby Gardens also announced that The Orchid Show 2026: Christian Sampson will run Oct. 10 through Dec. 6, 2026, at its Downtown Sarasota campus. The annual orchid show will pair the gardens’ team with Sampson, an artist known for installations using glass, acrylic and dichroic film.
