I've been going to Walt Disney World since I was 18 months old — that's 50 years of visits — and Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater has always been one of those places I keep coming back to. I've eaten here about eight times over the years, and it still delivers something you really can't get anywhere else in the parks.
The whole concept is just fun. The tables are set up to look like cars in a drive-in movie theater, and old B-movie clips play on a big screen at the front of the room. When you're outside in the Florida heat, stepping into this dark, cool, climate-controlled "theater" feels like a genuine escape. If you're a family trying to beat the heat and get a sit-down meal at the same time, this place checks both boxes.
I'll be honest — I used to go specifically for the Reuben, which was my go-to order for years. It's no longer on the menu, which is a real shame. But the burgers are excellent and hold up well as the anchor of the menu. And don't sleep on the milkshakes — they're really good and feel right at home in that retro drive-in setting.
One thing I'd tell any first-timer: skip dessert here. There are much better options elsewhere in Hollywood Studios, and it's not worth filling up on a so-so dessert when the rest of the park has more to offer in that department.
At a 4 out of 5, Sci-Fi Dine-In isn't necessarily the best food in Walt Disney World, but it's one of the most unique dining experiences you'll find. For families especially, the atmosphere makes it memorable — and that counts for a lot.
